Your Guest Bathroom Basket Guide
A guest bathroom basket is one of those small touches that makes a big impression. When your guests find a neatly arranged basket of toiletries and essentials waiting for them, they feel cared for — and they don't have to awkwardly ask if you have extra shampoo.
What to Include
The essentials: a new toothbrush, travel-size toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, and hand lotion. Beyond that, add what would make you comfortable: a razor, hair ties, cotton rounds, and a small sewing kit.
Presentation Matters
- Use a small basket or decorative tray
- Arrange items neatly, standing up when possible
- Include a small card saying "Help yourself!"
- Replace used items after each guest visit
- Use neutral, universally-appealing scents
Travel-Size vs Full-Size
Go with travel-size for most items. They look tidier, cost less to replace, and guests prefer sealed products they know are fresh. The exception is hand soap and hand lotion — these can be full-size dispensers.
Seasonal Updates
- Summer: Add sunscreen and aloe vera
- Winter: Add lip balm and extra lotion
- Any season: A scented candle or small plant adds a nice touch
Your guest bathroom basket is a reflection of your hospitality. Keep it stocked, keep it fresh, and your guests will always feel welcome.
